Don’t Give Up, Wait Upon The Lord

In Mark chapter 5, when Jesus sailed over the Sea of Galilee to Gadara (located in Decapolis), that was the first time in the ministry of the Lord Jesus where He went to Gentile territory. As you know, He healed the demoniac & then the people from the area came out to see what had happened. After they saw the healed demoniac & the dead swine on the seashore, they begged Jesus to depart their coasts, & Jesus did. But, before He sailed off, Jesus gave the healed demoniac the assignment of going home to Decapolis to witness for Him. And the Bible says that he “departed & began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: & all men did marvel.”

         Now, if I was Jesus, I would never have stepped another foot inside of the coasts of Decapolis. Yet, between 6 to 12 months later, the Lord returns & the response to Him is overwhelmingly positive. No longer are the people praying that Jesus will leave them alone; instead, they refuse to leave Him alone.
