The Reconciliation of Salvation - Part 2

We began looking this morning at salvation’s reconciliation which GOD accomplished & provides through the sacrificial death of His Son. The reconciling of man’s relationship to GOD is one of the great transactions that occurred at the cross which we personally experience when are saved by the grace of GOD through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Reconciliation has to do with the removal of hostility in a broken relationship & the restoration of harmony in a renewed relationship. It means that the wall separating the hostile parties (the wall created by sin) has been broken down & completely removed. Now that the breach between the 2 parties has been healed, the alienation ends & fellowship is restored. Reconciliation is GOD’s saving work & His initiative to reach out to sinners through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ & reunite the severed relationship. Salvation is great because Christ’s death provided for us sinners the healing of the relationship between GOD & man which Adam, our first father of the human race, had completely shattered through his deliberate sin.
