SAMSON – “The Story of Faith & Failure”

This morning, we are reviewing the life of one of the most well-known people in the OT—Samson. He was a man of extraordinary physical strength, & yet, he was surprisingly weak spiritually. Though this mighty warrior could slay entire armies, he found himself stripped of his power by a single woman. Adding to the perplexity of this Jewish national hero’s life is the way it tragically ends. While Samson was born with great potential from GOD, he realized little of it because he pursued his desires & will above GOD’s & was inconsistent in his devotion to GOD. Because Hebrews 11 inform us that he was a man of faith, it leaves us wondering what Samson might have accomplished for GOD if he had lived out his faith consistently. Without question, this man’s life provides every believer with instructions for living, & with warnings about sin & compromise, & finally with a message of hope after great failure.
