And the Darkness Comprehended It Not

Mar 10, 2026    Dr. Bo Wagner

In this message from the Tuesday night service of the 2026 Missions Conference, Dr. Bo Wagner continues the story of the Gospel’s arrival in Europe.

After Lydia’s salvation in Philippi, the darkness immediately pushed back. A demon-possessed girl confronted Paul and Silas, false accusations were made against them, and they were beaten and thrown into prison.

Yet even in the darkest moment, Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises to God. In response, God sent a miraculous earthquake that shook the prison and demonstrated His power.

This passage reminds believers that the darkness of the world cannot overcome the light of the Gospel. Wherever the message of Christ is sent through missions, lives are changed and the light of salvation shines into the darkest places.

John 1:5 (KJV)

“And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
