A Burden for the Lost

Mar 8, 2026    Dr. Jim Carrigan

This morning during our Mission Conference, Pastor Jim Carrigan challenged our church with a timely and convicting message about having a true burden for souls.

Drawing from Jeremiah, Lamentations, Matthew 9, and Romans 9–10, this sermon reminds us that missions does not begin on the other side of the world—it begins right where we are. Before we can have a burden for the nations, we must first have a burden for our own family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and community.

Pastor Carrigan calls believers to let what we see with our eyes affect our hearts, to weep for those who are without Christ, and to pray that God would give us compassion like our Savior had for the multitudes.

This message is a stirring reminder:

We must not only care about the lost abroad, but also the lost at home.

Join us as we pray that God would begin a fresh work in our hearts for the souls closest to us—and from there, let that burden grow to reach the world with the gospel.
