The Responsibility of GOD’s Child

Are you a follower of Jesus Christ? I am not simply asking if you believe the facts about Jesus because the devils believe. I am asking if you have truly been born-again which produces an unending desire to worship the Lord Jesus & an unquenchable love for Him that shows up through obedience to His Word. If so, you need to ask yourself 2 questions: 1) Am I going? 2) Am I growing?

GOD’s purpose for a believer’s life is to both be a witness for Jesus Christ & to grow into Christ’s likeness. We’ve spent a couple messages on the subject of going (taking the Gospel to all the world) & now we will spend a few weeks examining the subject of growing (being conformed into the image of Christ). This morning, I am going to discuss the child of GOD’s responsibility with regard to his own spiritual growth. In the next message, I will discuss the requirement of GOD’s Word for the believer’s growth. And then we will wrap it up with the role of GOD’s Spirit in the process of the believer’s growth.
