Bread Beyond the Border

You may recall that just 2 chapters back we studied the feeding of the 5,000 (6:30–44). Now we come to an almost identical miracle, the feeding of the 4,000. Because there are so many similarities between the 2 miracles, many do not take the time to teach this passage. However, as William MacDonald writes, “There is a danger in treating incidents like the feeding of the 4,000 as insignificant repetition. We should approach Bible study with the conviction that every word of Scripture is filled with spiritual truth, even if we can’t see it at our present state of understanding.” We dare not dismiss this miracle as unimportant for everything our Lord did was significant & it would not have been recorded & preserved in Scripture had GOD not wanted us to study & learn from it.
