Condemned Blindness Versus Cured Blindness

In the beginning of His public ministry, the Lord Jesus announced that He, in the prophetic words of Isaiah, was the anointed Messiah who had come to preach the gospel to the poor; to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, & recover sight to the blind (Luke 4:18). While the Lord would heal many of physical blindness, that miracle symbolically communicated a greater lesson—Man is spiritually blind & in need of GOD’s healing. Since the fall, sin has blinded the eyes of all people. Consequently, they cannot grasp or comprehend spiritual truth & their sin-infected flesh causes them to love darkness rather than light. To add to man’s desperate situation, Satan intensifies man’s blindness by clouding his mind with human philosophies & demonic doctrines.
