A Mother’s Faith That Pleased Jesus

On this Mother’s Day, I would like us to consider a mother who had the kind of faith that Jesus is looking for, the kind of faith that pleases Him. The Bible records that this mom’s faith elicited this compliment from the lips of The Lord Jesus Christ: “O woman, great is thy faith!” (Mat. 15:28). Church, this commendation demands our closest attention. Mothers, the faith of this mother is the kind of faith you should be striving to have & display. As we shall see, it’s the kind of faith that impacts their children’s lives. Now, don’t assume that this message is just for mothers, I assure you that it is for us all. You see, thousands of named & unnamed people appear in the Bible. However, only a few are ever commended for their faith. Yet, here in our text, Jesus held up this woman’s faith like a priceless jewel so the church could see how beautiful true saving faith is.
