The Cost of Christmas
Many of us talk about how expensive this time of year is because of the gifts we buy for others. However, there was no greater price paid than that which the Lord made for our salvation. The price tag on our sinful souls was so costly that it would require GOD’s own Son taking a body to die. His shed blood was the currency our redemption demanded. And amazingly, GOD the Father was willing to give His Son to pay the price and GOD the Son was willing to come to be the payment. Make no mistake about it, Christmas was costly for GOD Himself. And it’s no wonder why the preferred and dominant color of Christmas is red. Red is the reminder of Jesus’ blood which He came to shed for you and me. When you see the color red, always stop and reflect upon The Cost of Christmas. That’s the subject of our message this morning.
