In verse 18, Paul says that GOD has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ. When you lay down your arms so to speak & end your rebellion against GOD by repenting of sin & placing faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, you experience the reconciliation that GOD provided through the death & resurrection of His Son. Through this divine reconciliation, GOD placed your sins upon Christ where they were paid for & erased eternally from your account. He also transfers the righteousness of His Son to your spiritual account.
