Christ, Our All in All, Part 2
In this message, Pastor Marc continues through Ephesians 1 and centers on Paul’s prayer that believers would have the eyes of their understanding enlightened. Having already considered the praise report and Paul’s prayer for spiritual revelation, this message focuses on the specific realities believers need to understand more fully in Christ.
First, Paul prays that believers would know the hope of God’s calling. Salvation is not an isolated event but part of God’s eternal plan in Christ, established before the world began and secured through the risen Lord. This hope includes eternal life, future glory, reward, heaven, Christ’s kingdom, and everlasting security.
Second, believers need to understand the exceeding greatness of God’s power toward those who believe. The same power that raised Christ from the dead and exalted Him to heavenly places is now at work in the lives of God’s people. This power enables believers to persevere, serve, witness, endure suffering, and live faithfully for Christ.
Third, Paul prays that believers would grasp the exalted position of the risen Christ. All things are under His feet, and He is head over all things to the church. Because Christ reigns over every power, circumstance, and enemy, the believer has no reason to fear. Christ’s authority, sufficiency, and fullness belong to His body, the church.
This message calls believers to stop living spiritually poor and defeated when such riches, hope, and power are already theirs in Christ. Jesus Christ is truly all in all.
