The Lord Is My Shepherd - Part 3

The Lord is my Shepherd. What does that mean? It means that I belong to the Lord; I’m a sheep in His flock (purchased & birthed into it); I’m one of His own. Because believers are pictured as sheep, it reminds us that we are wholly dependent upon our Shepherd for everything, for our very survival. And because the Lord is our Shepherd, it means that He is personally committed to taking care of His sheep & supplying their needs. Thus, every believer, like David can say, “I shall not want.” Truly, the Lord is sufficient for every need of His people & they shall never lack the necessities of life because they are under the personal care of the Good Shepherd.
