America’s Only Hope

In Psalm 85 GOD's blessings and mercy in the past inspired this prayerful song in the heart of the psalmist who longed for national and spiritual restoration. The psalmist describes how he desired to see GOD's glory dwelling in his nation again.

Christians, this should be our prayer for America. While our country has been far from perfect, none can legitimately deny that GOD has richly blessed this nation. Why? Not because our founders were perfect but because they recognized and determined that Sovereign GOD and His Word would be the basis of forming what they called a "more perfect union."

Sadly, we live in a day that has turned its back on GOD. Is there hope for America? Yes, there is hope --- and it is GOD. However, GOD is not only our hope but also our nation's greatest threat. Unless we see revival in this land, we can only expect GOD's judgment. I pray that this psalm will inspire you to join me in praying for our nation.
