The Presence of GOD

In the OT, the Ark of the Covenant symbolized the presence of GOD (the Shekinah glory of GOD hovered over that piece of furniture), & it represented the Lord Jesus Christ. Everything from the mercy seat on top of the Ark to its contents (Aaron’s rod that budded – the resurrection power & life of Jesus; the manna in a golden pot – the sustenance of Jesus for spiritual life; & the 10 Commandments engraved in stone – the righteousness of Christ in fulfilling the Law) signified something about Jesus. That’s why GOD gave Moses instructions for having it built & said that it would be the place where GOD would meet with His people & speak to them.
