The Idiocy of Idols & The Greatness of GOD

This is the last chapter of the message GOD told Jeremiah to declare to the people of Judah at the Temple gate which began back in chapter 7. As we shall see, he concluded the message with a poetic section contrasting the vast difference between idols & the living GOD. This is a parenthetical address on the greatness of GOD & the idiocy of idols before he continues to deliver his final statements concerning GOD’s judgment. Its almost as if Jeremiah has to pause from preaching before he ends his sermon & say in effect, “What are you doing? This is crazy! Can’t you see the folly in turning from the true GOD to idols?”
