Although things looked extremely dark for the people of Judah during the moment in time that we’re looking at, all hope is not lost. Why? Because of the Lord’s unchanging goodness, His unfailing mercies, His covenant love (c.31), & His unwavering faithfulness. Despite the peoples’ best efforts to distance themselves as far from GOD as they possibly could & thus rob themselves of His blessings, GOD promises that there will be a future restoration for His people & illustrates this hope by directing Jeremiah to buy some land.
