Understanding The New Covenant

As we approach Christmas, it’s wonderful that we find ourselves in Jeremiah 31. Why did Jesus take on flesh, why did He become human? He came to seek & to save lost sinners according to His own words in Luke 19:10. And how exactly would Jesus save lost sinners? By dealing with sin once & for all. Joseph was told by the angel to name the virgin-born Son of GOD “Jesus”, “for He shall save His people from their sins.” Well, to save His people from their sins would require Jesus’ sacrificial death upon the cross. There on the cross, the sinless Son of GOD stood in the guilty sinner’s place so that all who will repent of sin & believe in Him might be forgiven & receive His righteousness.
