Though GOD promised the Jewish exiles that He would regather them to their land after the Babylonian captivity had ended & also promised them a final restoration in the future, which includes a spiritual revival, a future of rest & security & rejoicing & growth, & the Messianic Son of David to reign over them, these promises did not eliminate the retribution which GOD had repeatedly warned the nation of if they did not repent of sin & return to Him.
