The Love of the Saved
As Carolina Baptist Church enters the Thanksgiving season, this passage brings our attention to the grace of God in salvation. In Luke 7:36–50, Jesus is honored by a woman whose life had been transformed by forgiveness. Her tears, humility, and devotion reveal the natural response of a heart that has truly been saved.
This message contrasts the grateful love of a forgiven sinner with the cold pride of Simon the Pharisee. It shows that both the openly immoral and the outwardly religious stand in need of the same grace. The woman’s love did not earn her salvation; rather, her love revealed that she had already been forgiven by grace through faith in Christ.
This sermon emphasizes:
the seeking ministry of the Lord Jesus
the danger of self-righteousness
the awareness of sin that deepens love for Christ
the visible evidence of genuine devotion
the peace that comes through saving faith
A powerful and timely message on forgiveness, gratitude, and the worship that flows from a redeemed heart.
